Summer has finally arrived and the southern heat is heading our way! As much as I love this time of year, there are several things that are on my small list of things that bug me about being in the heat. One, sweating and secondly, dealing with my hair. It’s not so much that my hair is unmanageable (sort of), but that it’s so hot and humid that I don’t want to feel my hair getting stuck to me! So, today I am going to share some “beat the heat” hairstyles that I will be rocking all summer. These are actually some common styles, but last all day and stay put due to me using a few hair tools from Goody!
The Top Knot
This is a sure way to keep your hair off of your neck and you from getting hot. A top knot! We all know this style, we wear it year round mostly, but it can be a pain if you have to keep fixing it all day from falling down. Goody has these super cool Simple Styles Spin Pins that will lock your top knot in place ALL DAY! Like, won’t budge at all! It has the power of 20 bobby pins in one. So I just take my Goody Boar Bristle Cushion Brush from their new Wood Collection to smooth everything up and then secure with a Spin Pin.
Double Top Knots
What’s better than one bun? Two mini buns! Like above, just two simple top knots. I part down the middle, brush my hair up, twist them up into a knot and add Goody Simple Styles Spin Pins to secure these puppies in place.
Half-up, Half-down
For days that aren’t as hot and sticky, or tired of rocking updos, I do a simple half-up style. To give this look some extra flair, I use the new Goody Ouchless Elastic Hair Ties. They have so many cute colors or prints on their hair ties to spice up this look!
Braided Bun
Sometimes I like to do different bun styles other than a plain one. So, I’ll opt for a chic low or mid-braided bun. I’ll give myself a side or middle part, secure my pony with an Ouchless Hair Tie, braid it, and then secure with a Spin Pin.

I wish I could play and have fun with my hair the way you do, but there are only so and so many things I can do to style it. I’d have to say I like the two buns the best and actually that’s a hairstyle I’ve been seeing a lot in street styles during the five fashion weeks I’ve attended during the last month, so keep rocking the two bun look! 🙂

I love top knots in summer time, looks so chic and effortless. Also that’s the only style I have mastered. Honesty, I cut my hair way shorter for the first time as I was too tired to upkeep them looking stylish and healthy, but they are long enough for a mini bun::) Summer times are the worse, mine gets frizzy. I love all of your hairstyles. You look so cute with double top knots! My favourite summer hair style is messy hair (with no style at all haha) or just simple top knot if it is too hot.
I also would like to try your Half up, half down style but I’m not sure that i will look good with this kind of hair style 🙂

Totally love top knots in summer but also in winter too for the gym or that effortless look.
The double top knot is also such a great idea and reminds me of Gwen stafani hairstyle in the 90’s.

I love Goody products especially those small elastics. I’ve seen the spin pins everywhere, but I’ve never actually used them. I should really try them the next time I’m at a Target. I’m sure they’re much more secure than the normal bobby pins I use. My go-to summer hairstyle is definitely the top knot. It just keeps all my hair out of the face.

Girl you are so cute. My favorites have got to be the top knot, the double top knot and the braided bun. The braided bun is such a cool idea. It looks simple and very chic but I never thought of it! And also, I always have issues with my top knots, so definitely picking up the spin pins from the store to try.

What a fab hair post for summer. I have more frizzy hair which means as soon as it is hot or humid, it starts going crazy. These hair styles really do beat the summer heat. I love just pulling my hair all up into a top knot like you show. The half up and half down are great too. I haven’t tried the space buns yet, but do it on my girls all the time.
